Former United States President Donald Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader of Iran.

His reaction came shortly after Iranian state media announced that Mojtaba had been chosen to succeed his late father, Ali Khamenei, who led the country for decades.

Trump made his comments on Monday during an interview with Fox News. While speaking during the interview, the former U.S. president said he was not pleased with the decision to place Mojtaba Khamenei in charge of Iran’s highest political and religious office. According to him, the development could affect the already tense relationship between Iran and the United States, as well as other countries in the Middle East.

During the interview, Trump also spoke about Iran’s military activities in the region.

He claimed that Iran had previously aimed hundreds of missiles at different countries across the Middle East, creating fear and instability in the region.

However, he argued that the situation has changed recently following military actions carried out by the United States against Iranian targets.

Trump stated that these actions had dealt a serious blow to Iran’s capabilities and had weakened its influence in the region. He insisted that Iran is no longer as powerful as it used to be and suggested that the balance of power in the Middle East may now be shifting.

In addition, Trump commented on the safety of international shipping routes, especially the important Strait of Hormuz.

This narrow waterway is one of the world’s most important routes for transporting oil and other goods. Trump said ships traveling through the strait should not be afraid despite rising tensions in the region.

The announcement of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s new Supreme Leader has drawn international attention, with many global leaders and political observers closely watching how the leadership change may influence Iran’s future policies and relations with other nations.
