Presently generating a heated confusion at the top echelon of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is the party’s zoning choice for the position of National women leader.

The position, left vacant by the newly appointed minister of poverty alleviation, Beta Edu is one of the major crux of the matter being decided upon by the chieftains of the party and as the number one woman in Nigeria, the first lady Her Excellency, Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu has a very pivotal role to play in the final decision taking by the party chieftains.

Top Society News gathered that the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje may be nursing the ambition of zoning the exalted position to his Northern caucus while the first lady may also be having deep interest in her South West political base.

This scenario is alleged to probably be coercing the leaders engaging in some unseen political battles, shielded away from the Nigerian public. However, the south south zone women are also clamouring for the position which they believe should be given to them unrivaled and unhindered. The issue of who will replace Beta Edu as National Women Leader of the APC is a topic of interest that should not be taken for granted due to its viability and importance to the lives of all the feminine gender in Nigeria.

It could be noted that some top women party chieftains of the APC are currently jostling between their bases and Abuja, lobbying the Vila for the exalted position.
