The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, has rejected the appeal lodged by Ovie Omo-Agege, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Delta State and former Deputy Senate President, against Sheriff Oborevwori, the incumbent governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the March 18, 2023 governorship elections.
Omo-Agege and the APC had contested the earlier judgment of the Delta State governorship elections petition tribunal, which had declared Oborevwori as the victor of the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial race.
The three-man panel of the Delta Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal, headed by Justice C.H Ahuchaogu in Asaba, the state capital, had unequivocally affirmed Oborevwori’s triumph in the elections.
