Afrobeats icon Ayodeji Balogun professionally known as Wizkid attended The British Fashion Awards that took place in London on Monday, 2nd December and also performed at the show.
The singer has been making waves in and outside Nigeria with his 6th studio album ‘Morayo’ which has continued to do the numbers on streaming platforms.
The Afrobeats icon was spotted with celebrities like ASAP Rocky, Rihanna, and Dave Chapelle, sharing some good time and enjoying the moment.
Wizkid performed ‘Trouble Mind’ at the show, a track of his ‘Morayo’ album, an album dedicated to his late mother.
His recent album ‘Morayo’ was released on 22 November 2024, and broke the record for the biggest streaming debut for an African album on Spotify.
In 2021 Billboard stated that Wizkid “is the first African artist to truly make a major pop breakthrough in the United States and seems best poised to do so globally, too”
His music has earned several achievements, including the Grammy Award for Best Music Video as a lead artist on Beyoncé’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which is his first Grammy Award.
Wizkid was also nominated in the Best Global Music Album and the Best Global Music Performance categories in the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Made in Lagos Deluxe Edition and Essence.
