The honorable Minster for the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has agreed to allocate some land to Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for the construction of Schools for the children of NCS staff.
This is in response to NCS’ Comptroller General’s passionate request, vial a letter, to the Minister, to enable them provide quality education for the children of their staff.
Wike acknowledged the letter and promised to allocate the letter in due course.
He said:
“Our policies, like that of Nigeria Customs Service, is to generate revenue to carry out projects in Abuja, but considering the good intentions of the CGC to establish schools to ensure quality education, we are ready to approve NCS’ request.”
The Minister further reiterated his commitment to helping the NCS acquire a land that will suit their needs. The minister also promised his undying support to the CG, to help him succeed in his tenure.
NCS CG, Adewale Adeniyi, had on Thursday, Oct. 19, through the National Public Relations Officer of the service, Abdullahi Maiwada conveyed the letter to the Minister.

Adeniyi also congratulated Wike on his appointment, and stater his belief in the importance of FCT in the nation building.
The letter reads in part;
“FCT holds a pivotal position in Nigeria, and I believe that by getting it right in FCT, we can get it right in Nigeria.
“We anticipate transparency and integrity, and we believe that Nigerians will look forward to a smart and proud FCT.
“To ameliorate the problem, I am making a compassionate appeal to the minister for the allocation of land to enable the construction of primary and secondary schools for the children of customs personnel in Abuja.”
