The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has explained why they arrested Samuel Ojeogwu, also known as Sammy West, the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
Samuel was arrested in Lagos last week and taken to Abuja.
His sister, Regina, had earlier accused the police of siding with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and claimed her brother did nothing wrong.
However, the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said on Friday that Samuel’s arrest was legal and done properly.
She explained that the police had sent several invitations to Samuel to come for questioning, but he ignored them.
His arrest came after a formal complaint was filed against him and three others, accusing them of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
According to Adeh, “On October 28, 2025, a petition was submitted to the FCT Metro Area Command against Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu and three others.
They were accused of conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying. Samuel refused to respond to several invitations, so the police obtained a court warrant to arrest him in Lagos and bring him to Abuja for investigation.”
She added that after the investigation, Samuel was charged in court on November 6, 2025, for the listed offences.
“The court has ordered that he remain in custody until he meets his bail conditions,” Adeh said. She also stressed that the police would continue to act professionally and follow the rule of law.
