Governor Chukwuma Soludo took a crucial step toward the envisioned transformation of Anambra State by unveiling a draft budget amounting to N410 billion for the fiscal year 2024.
The announcement took place during a session at the State House of Assembly in Awka, the capital of Anambra, on Tuesday.
Governor Soludo highlighted a substantial 57.8 percent increase in the proposed budget compared to the previous year, which stood at over N280 billion in 2023. The governor emphasized a strategic focus on capital development by allocating a noteworthy 77 percent of the budget, translating to N313.9 billion, to capital expenditure.

Breaking down the budget further, the Recurrent expenditure is set at N96.2 billion, underscoring the administration’s commitment to prioritizing infrastructural and developmental projects.
Governor Soludo expressed optimism that this substantial financial commitment would propel Anambra State toward the realization of its transformation agenda, envisioning a vibrant, livable, and prosperous smart mega city.
