President Bola Tinubu has once more urged Nigerians to endure the present difficulties resulting from the elimination of petroleum subsidy, expressing that today’s challenges will pave the path for a brighter future.

These remarks were made on Thursday in Abuja during the unveiling of the autobiography of esteemed statesman Edwin Clark.

President Tinubu emphasized that the current difficulties are temporary and stressed that the challenges faced today will lead to a more promising future.

Encouraging Nigerians to maintain patience with his administration, Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, expressed that the palliative measures initiated by the Federal Government will soon alleviate the impact of the hardships experienced by citizens across the nation.

“Solutions to problems can never be as instant as coffee. But we must certainly be there. I know the removal of fuel subsidy has created some things. And that is why palliatives are being put in place of 100 trucks,” President Tinubu said.

“Fertilizers have been sent to the states, 100 trucks of grains have been sent and more are coming. Buses are also coming. We can endure this for a moment. What we are going through today is for a better tomorrow. Nations are great because citizens have hope. They have hope that tomorrow will be better than today.”

His statement follows closely after the Federal Government granted its endorsement for assistance to state governments.

Following their gathering at the Presidential Villa, the National Economic Council (NEC) granted the nod to allocate N5 billion to each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), along with providing grains to state governors.

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, who communicated this update during a press briefing, revealed that the government had additionally dispatched five trucks of rice to every one of the 36 state governors.

Meanwhile, the selection of Dave Umahi as Minister for Works can be seen as a form of praise for Tinubu’s recent ministerial appointments. Akume suggested that this choice reflects the President’s recognition of individuals who diligently serve their communities.

“Umahi did very well as governor and he is today the Minister of Works. I think we can say that this is a step in the right direction,” he said.
