Mohamed Salah has moved into the same house previously occupied by former Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme after joining Turkish club Trabzonspor.

The Trabzonspor president, Ertugrul Dogan, revealed this while dismissing reports about the accommodation provided for the Egyptian star.

According to Dogan, the house where Salah is currently staying was previously occupied by Nwakaeme during his time at the club.

“We currently have some houses in Trabzon that we have arranged for our players. For example, the house he is staying in now is the same house Nwakaeme used to stay in,” Dogan said, according to quotes reported by Fanatik.

He explained that the club owns several houses and villas in Trabzon for its players and said there was nothing unusual about Salah staying in one of them.

“There are about seven to eight houses there, all standard villas. Some pictures are circulating, but there is no big issue. I don’t know where else in Trabzon such a house exists,” Dogan added.

Nwakaeme had two spells with Trabzonspor and became a popular figure among the club’s supporters.

The 37-year-old Nigerian recently ended his playing career with the club after helping Trabzonspor win the Turkish Cup in May. He has since been offered a scouting role by the club.

Meanwhile, Salah’s arrival at Trabzonspor could also benefit another Nigerian, Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu.

Former Trabzonspor forward Emre Gural believes Salah’s presence could give Onuachu more space to score goals because opposing defenders are likely to focus heavily on the Egyptian forward.

“Paul Onuachu will now receive the ball in a much different way and create different positions. Onuachu will create more space because the opposing team’s players will focus on Mohamed Salah,” Gural said.

He added that if Onuachu can take advantage of the extra space created by Salah, the Nigerian could score many goals.

Onuachu finished last season as one of the joint top scorers in the Turkish Super Lig with 22 goals. He shared the Golden Boot with Istanbul Basaksehir striker Eldor Shomurodov.

The Nigerian forward will now hope to build a strong partnership with Salah as Trabzonspor target more success this season.
