The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Youth Province 1, in collaboration with other youth provinces across Lagos and beyond, has spent about N40 million on a free bus-to-work initiative.
The program, which ran from November 24 to December 5, provided free morning and evening transportation for commuters in several parts of Lagos and Ogun state.

According to a statement by Youth Province 1, the initiative aims to ease the burden of rising living costs on Nigerians. Morning routes included RCCG Jesus Palace in Festac to CMS, Oworonshoki to CMS, Redemption City to 7UP, Redemption City to Sagamu, Redemption City to Trinity Towers (VI), Redemption City to Agege, and Ikorodu to Maryland. Commuters were also offered free return trips in the evenings.
Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, Pastor-in-Charge of Youth Province 1, explained that the program is in its second year because of the positive impact it had last year.
“We noticed how much relief the program gave to commuters last year, so we decided to continue this year in partnership with Youth Provinces 2, 7, 14, 18, and 20. This is our way of supporting people during challenging times,” he said.
The pastor added that the bus rides are not just about transportation; they also provide an opportunity for spiritual guidance. Passengers can hear messages from the Bible and participate in prayers while traveling, regardless of their tribe or religion.
About 10 large yellow buses were deployed daily, carrying hundreds of commuters. Pastor Martins Olusakin, Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Province (CSR), noted that the program has received widespread appreciation, with many beneficiaries expressing gratitude on social media.
In addition to this initiative, the church is also preparing for the RCCG Holy Ghost Congress scheduled for the second week of December.
According to RCCG leaders, programs like this are part of the church’s effort to support the community and make daily life easier for residents.
