The Police Council, chaired by President Bola Tinubu, officially confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the substantive Inspector-General of Police on Tuesday.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, made the announcement during a press briefing at the State House, Aso Rock Villa.
Having assumed the role of the acting Inspector-General of Police on June 20, Egbetokun successfully demonstrated his competence and dedication during his three-month tenure.
Minister Geidam emphasized that Egbetokun’s comprehensive strategy for enhancing national security played a pivotal role in the decision to confirm his appointment.
