While some initially pointed to the Nigeria Labour Congress’s (NLC) threat to disrupt fuel supply, further investigations have revealed a more complex scenario. Fuel dealers along the Owerri-Aba road have attributed the price hike to the soaring exchange rate, with the dollar now standing at over N1000. Consequently, they emphasize that the escalation is not directly connected to the NLC’s actions.
As a result of this unprecedented spike in petrol prices, commuters in Imo State are facing an acute struggle. With the sudden surge in transportation costs, the already burdened populace is grappling with the additional financial strain, further exacerbating their daily struggles.
