A tragic accident occurred early Friday morning near Myoung Barracks in Lagos when a suspected drunk driver crashed his car into a group of soldiers during their routine morning exercise. Reports indicate that several soldiers lost their lives, while others suffered serious injuries.
According to an eyewitness, the vehicle had three young men inside, who are believed to be internet fraudsters, commonly known as ‘Yahoo Boys.’ The car veered off the road and struck the soldiers near the Army Sports Camp.
One soldier, who was fortunate to be at the back of the group, described the horrific scene, saying there was blood everywhere.
Immediately after the crash, one of the car’s occupants managed to escape, while the other two were caught by angry onlookers and fellow soldiers. They were severely beaten, and their vehicle was vandalized.
The tragic incident has left the military community in deep shock and mourning. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter further to determine the exact cause of the crash and take appropriate action.
