Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has pledged unwavering support to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in fulfilling its mandates.
This commitment was articulated on Wednesday during the official launch of a camouflage uniform for the NSCDC, aimed at augmenting the existing attire of the security agency.
Minister of Interior Proposes Immigration Policy Review to Match Current Realities
Dr. Tunji-Ojo reiterated the government’s dedication to bolstering the NSCDC, particularly in terms of officer welfare and training. Speaking on Thursday, as conveyed by the Ministry of Interior’s spokesman, Afonja Ajibola, the minister expressed confidence that government investments in the corps would yield dividends, ultimately contributing to enhanced national security.
He said,
“As a federal government, we are putting in all that we can to ensure that we provide and support our agencies with the right materials and of course the right knowledge needed for them to deliver, I know the NSCDC is not an exception.”
The introduction of the new camouflage uniform was emphasized by Minister Tunji-Ojo as a significant step toward instilling pride among NSCDC officers within the broader security community. He highlighted its potential to boost morale and instill confidence among the corps’ personnel.
Commandant General of NSCDC, Abubakar Audi, presented the new uniform to the Minister, shedding light on the corps’ participation in various joint operations, both kinetic and non-kinetic.
Notably, Audi pointed out that NSCDC operatives were the only personnel without camouflage uniforms, making this addition crucial for uniformity and operational cohesion.

Assuring the Minister that the new attire would inspire confidence and elevate officers’ morale during operations, General Audi underscored the long-standing desire of NSCDC personnel to align their appearance with counterparts in other services.
