Nollywood actor Junior Pope has been buried in Enugu amid tears.
The 43-year-old was laid to rest in his hometown Ikpogwu Ukehe in Nsukka, Enugu State on Friday.
Top Society reports that the remains of the late actor arrived his hometown in the early hours of Friday, after which a funeral service at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe was held.
After a brief sermon, the officiating priest prayed for the family of the deceased, adding that “the lord gives and the lord taketh.”
Family, friends and colleagues of the late actor could not hold back tears as his body was lowered to the ground in his compound after the church service.
The venue was surrounded by security operatives, including the police and local vigilante groups who prevented authorised persons from taking pictures and making video recordings.
Celebrities like Zubby Michael, Ruby Ojiakor, Linc Edochie, Queen Wokoma, Chinwe Owoh, Rita Edochie and others attended the funeral.
Junior Pope whose real name was JohnPaul Odonwodo drowned alongside four others on April 10.
