Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has expressed shock and concern over the staggering N8.9 billion monthly salaries reportedly paid to FCT Administration staff.
Wike, who addressed the public during a live broadcast from his office on Friday, November 24, vowed to initiate a thorough staff auditing process to verify the accuracy of this substantial monthly expenditure.
Despite anticipated resistance, Minister Wike is determined to get to the bottom of the salary discrepancy, aiming to ensure transparency and accountability within the FCT Administration. He revealed that the FCTA currently employs a massive workforce of 38 thousand staff, making the auditing process a challenging yet necessary task.

During the broadcast, Minister Wike also touched upon the pressing issue of insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory. He assured the public that the matter would be addressed without fear or favour, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
Furthermore, Wike announced that President Bola Tinubu is expected to commission several projects within the FCT in the shortest possible time.
