Dangote Industries Limited has brought another win home as the Award winning brand of the year. This recognition is in honour of the company’s great performance overtime, particularly in the past year.
Dangote received the category award in acknowledgment of its substantial efforts in promoting youth employment and advancing infrastructure development.
At the award ceremony, held in Lagos State Nigeria, the Publisher of Marketing Edge, John Ajayi, acknowledged that Dangote’s top-ranking position among its peers to its robust employment generation initiatives, which had created jobs for many youths.
He said;
“This recognition covers many business investments and corporate interventions carried out by the company in Africa as a continent.”
Ajayi added that “the award presentation served as the focal point of Marketing Edge’s 20th-anniversary celebration and the 11th installment of its annual Brands and Advertising Excellence Award.”
Ajayi emphasised that Marketing Edge’s entry into the industry two decades ago had solidified its role as an authoritative and reliable partner for all stakeholders within the Nigerian marketing and advertising ecosystem.
The ceremony also recognized and awarded lots of other brands for their outstanding performance in the market.
Meanwhile, at the induction of new trainees few days ago, Dangote Industries Limited has restated its commitment to creating more employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.
Speaking at the induction President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, highlighted on how the company has grown from a commodity trading company to manufacturing over the years. This is in sync with its vision to immensely contribute to the industrial development of the country, thus repositioning Nigeria in the African industrial landscape.

The CEO said manufacturing, as a means of meeting people’s needs, is a powerful tool for reducing poverty by creating jobs.
Dangote said;
“The mission of the group is to touch the people’s lives by providing their basic needs and this could only be fulfilled through the manufacturing of goods that could meet the people’s needs. Hence, the massive investments in various sectors of the economy.”
“They are currently benefiting from the graduate trainee programme, which demonstrates their commitment to employment generation,” he added.
He further stated that it was in a quest to meet the peoples’ needs through massive job creation that his Group added three new business portfolios worth over $20bn in refinery, petrochemical and fertiliser.
According to him, the investment will also generate about $16bn in foreign exchange for the country and a combined 250,000 jobs to help in reducing joblessness among the youths.
