APGA Sets N30m Fee for Governorship Aspirants, Offers Discount for Women and PWDs Ahead of Anambra Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced that aspirants vying for the governorship primary in Anambra State will need to pay a hefty sum of N30m to procure the nomination and expression of interest forms.

This decision was made public by the National Organizing Secretary of APGA, Ifeanyi Mbaeri, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the statement, the party has also approved a discounted rate of five percent for female aspirants and physically challenged persons. This move is seen as a efforts to promote inclusivity and diversity within the party. The sale of forms is set to begin on Friday, February 28, and will run until March 20.

In Mbaeri’s words, “In pursuant to its powers under Articles 12 (2) & (3)(b) and 24 of the APGA Constitution 2019 and in compliance with INEC schedule of activities for Anambra State Governorship Election, the National Executive Committee of APGA through its National Working Committee has approved a provisional timetable for the governorship primary election.”

“The party’s sale of expression of interest and nomination form is to begin on Friday, February 28 and end on March 20, while screening of aspirants will be held on March 28 at the APGA National Headquarters in Abuja.”

The party’s special state congress and governorship primary election have been scheduled to take place on April 5. The National Executive Committee (NEC) of APGA has approved a provisional timetable for the election process, but reserves the right to adjust dates if necessary.

The APGA leadership has emphasized that the party is committed to ensuring a transparent and fair process for all aspirants.
