Nigerian singer and songwriter Michael Adebayo Olayinka, also known as Ruger, has made clear why he is getting booked for shows more than some of his colleagues in the music industry.

According to the singer, he does not just perform his songs but also showcases his personality on stage. He stated that being a successful performer requires much more than just producing hit songs or hosting shows.

Ruger pointed out that an artiste can have millions of hit songs and still not know what to do on stage. “Let me explain to you why I get booked so much. I don’t come on stage to sing (of which I know l’m so good at) I bring my whole fucking personality on stage it’s not a joke. It’s not by having hit songs  you can have a million hit songs and still be clueless on stage at a 200-capacity venue.” He wrote on his X handle.

The ‘Bae Bae’ crooner credited his ability to combine his energy and showmanship alongside his personality for making him a sought after performer. “I bring my entire personality on stage, and that’s what makes my fans love me and always want to watch me perform,” he stated.

The singer boasted about the unshakable support of his fans, disclosing that his tours consistently draws a large number audience. “My fans always turn up for my tours…I’m on tour for life.”

Ruger rose to fame with the release of his song ‘Bounce’ in 2021, which led him to sign a recording deal with Jonzing World. In the same year, he released his debut extended play, Pandemic. The singer exited Jonzing World to start his own imprint, called ‘Blown Boy Entertainment’ in 2024.
