The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday night, declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Monday Okpebholo as winner of the governorship election held in Edo State on Saturday, September 21.
According to the results declared by the electoral body, Okpebholo won the election by 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who polled a total of 247,274 votes.
Top Society reports candidate of the Labour Party in the 2024 governorship election conducted in Edo State, Olumide Akpata, came a distant third in the election, polling a total of 22,763 votes.
