The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday emerged as the new chairman of the Southwest Governors Forum.
Top Society reports that Sanwo-Olu was elected on Monday at the forum’s meeting in Lagos.
Recall, the seat remained vacant since December 2023, following the death of former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, who led the forum until his death.

Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023 at a German hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Aside Sanwo-Olu who was the host, the Monday’s meeting had in attendance Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Dapo
Abiodun of Ogun, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti state.
