‘Tudun Biri Reconstruction Starts in 3 Weeks After Accidental Air Strike’ – Governor Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has declared that the reconstruction of Tudun Biri in the Igabi Local Government Area is set to kick off within the next three weeks.

The announcement comes in the aftermath of an incident on Sunday night when an air strike, originally intended to flush out terrorists, inadvertently targeted civilians during a religious celebration.

The unintended strike resulted in a devastating toll on the community, with the death toll soaring to 127 individuals. Scores of injured persons have been rushed to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the state, where medical teams are working tirelessly to provide treatment and support to those affected.

Governor Uba Sani addressed the situation during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, shedding light on the steps being taken to alleviate the suffering of the affected community.

The Governor revealed that Vice President Kashim Shettima has given assurance that rebuilding efforts will commence swiftly, emphasizing the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy and rebuilding Tudun Biri.

Despite the tragic circumstances, Governor Sani urged the affected residents to remain calm, assuring them that the government is fully committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their families.

FG Vows Full Probe, Accountability Following Kaduna Bombing 

The Governor expressed condolences to those who lost their loved ones and reassured the public that every necessary measure would be taken to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.

“In the course of this incident, we are starting a program. So the whole community will be rebuilt.” 

“Mr. Vice President, yesterday, even this morning, I called him, and he assured me that the rebuilding of the community will start in the next three to four weeks maximum,” he said

“I won’t be surprised if the whole building starts in the next two weeks.” 

“Today they have taken responsibility and it’s a way forward. Having taken responsibility, We will have to fast-track the investigation and ensure that those involved are dealt with decisively.” 

“For me, it’s key and that will make the community a bit calm and satisfied.”
