Rivers United have been drawn in a challenging group for this season’s CAF Champions League.
The Nigerian champions will compete in Group A alongside Pyramids SC of Egypt, RS Berkane of Morocco, and Power Dynamos of Zambia.

The group stage draw was held on Monday afternoon at the SuperSport studios in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This marks the first-ever group stage appearance for Rivers United in Africa’s premier club competition.
The Port Harcourt-based team, led by Coach Finidi George, secured qualification after defeating Black Bulls of Mozambique 3–1 on aggregate in the final preliminary round.
Reigning champions Pyramids SC will be the team to beat, having lifted the CAF Champions League trophy for the first time last season. RS Berkane, one of Morocco’s top sides, boast vast continental experience but are still chasing their maiden title.

Power Dynamos from Zambia, meanwhile, will be hoping to relive their past glory, with their best performance coming in 1985 when they reached the quarter-finals.
Rivers United face a difficult path ahead but are determined to prove their strength against Africa’s elite.
Coach Finidi George has expressed confidence in his squad, stating that his players have the quality and determination to advance beyond the group stage.
Supporters in Port Harcourt are buzzing with excitement and optimism, hoping that Rivers United’s CAF Champions League journey will bring pride and renewed recognition to Nigerian football.
