Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku has declared his full support over the upcoming nationwide protest.
The actor via his verified Instagram page on Monday, revealed reasons he is backing the protest.
Holding a flag with the words “Hunger dey,” he began, “Fellow Nigerians, I love you, but I’m not going to betray you.
“The hunger that exists is affecting people. Even my phone doesn’t get a rest; people keep asking me for money.
“I don’t have a job, and I’m going through a lot of stress and devastation in our nation, Nigeria. People I love are hungry, and some are dying.”

He went on to narrate the story of a 10-year-old boy who was killed for stealing a N100 cup of garri because he was hungry, questioning why the child was killed.
The actor explained that if he had been there, “I would have called him over and tried to meet Mr. President to find something for him and his family. But even they are not listening to us anymore.
“What do you want me to do? I need to stand up for equity, justice, and fairness in governance,” he said.
It would be recalled that the 64-year-old staged a solo protest on July 8, drawing attention to the issue of hunger in the country.

Hanks was seen holding a flag with the inscription “Hunger dey ooo” meaning “hunger is real,” highlighting the plight of many Nigerians struggling with food insecurity.
His support comes amid growing tension as nationwide protests have been scheduled against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
