Members of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have vehemently rejected the dissolution imposed by the party’s National Working Committee.

Despite the National body’s decision, the state executives, led by Chairman Emeka Beke, insist they were unaware of such a move.

“I’m not even aware of the dissolution but I’m out of the country right now. I’ll talk to you when we have more details about the issue,” he said Wednesday night.

Yet, the APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, asserted that the dissolution is deemed illegal and untenable, as their legal adviser, Chairman, and state executives categorically reject it.

When questioned about the possibility of legal action, he remained tight-lipped, expressing concerns that commenting on the matter could jeopardize their undisclosed plans.

The party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 election, Tonye Cole, and former governor Rotimi Amaechi have chosen to remain silent on the issue, leaving their stance unclear.

On the flip side, the newly appointed caretaker committee chairman, Tony Okocha, who also serves on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board, has chosen not to engage with the media. Okocha stated that he awaits his inauguration on Friday before making any public statements.
