Popular socialite and celebrity barman, Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest have come under heavy criticism for reposting a video of the incumbent governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinmma celebrating his electoral victory.
Recall, the state returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Abayomi Fasina declared the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma winner of the governorship election conducted in the state on Saturday.
Fasina, who is the vice-chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State said that Uzodimma polled 540,308 votes to defeat 17 other candidates.
Fasina said that the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, polled 71,503 votes whilst the Labour Party candidate, Senator Athan Achonu came third with 64,081 votes.
In a video that emerged on social media, the Imo governor is seen dancing with his wife with some chieftains of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at his residence in celebration of his electoral victory on Sunday.
Reposting the video, the celebrity barman celebrated the governor, noting his victory was ‘unopposed’.
He said, “That’s Some Unopposed Victory. Steps @he_hopeuzodimma @he_chiomauzodimma Congratulations To The First Family Of Imo, Four Years Don Waka We Still Dey Carry Go. It’s Time To Perfect The Job.”
The statement did not however, sit well with some of his followers who took to the comment section of the socialite for slam for celebrating an election dupped with ‘electoral violence and rigging.’
