The former minister of Finance and Director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ngozi- Okonjo-Iweala on Sunday showed off her dancing skills at her son, Uzodinma Iweala’s wedding ceremony to his long time partner, Lotte Elsa in Heidelberg, Germany.
In the video shared on social media, Okonjo-Iweala is seen showing off hot step dance moves at the wedding ceremony.
The WTO DG danced to an array of Nigerian music with her new daughter-in-law.
The groom’s aunt, Njide Udochi via her Facebook page shared videos from the ceremony, whilst congratulating the entire family of Iweala for coming from all around the world to honour the former minister’s family.
Sharing the video, she wrote,
“As Nigerians and Ndigbo, there is no marriage unless we as a community celebrate our traditional marriage rites, Igba Nkwu Nwanyi. So, in Heidelberg, Germany, we married our wife.
“It takes a village, and Uzo and Lotte had their village there to honour and celebrate them…So grateful to all our extended family and friends who came from all over the world to honour our family and tradition today.
“Congratulations to the entire Iweala family and Ndi Umuda Isingwu. Congratulations to the Goos family of Heidelberg, Germany. To our newest couple, Uzodinma Iweala and Lotte Elsa. May you continue to find true happiness in each other. Love you both!”

What To Know About Ngozi Iweala’s First Son, Uzo
Uzodinma Iweala is a Nigerian- American citizen and the first son of Okonjo-Iweala. He is also an award-winning writer, a film maker and a medial doctor. Some of his published work includes, Beast of No Nation and Speaks No Evil.
In 2004, Uzodinma while at Harvard, earned the Hoopes Prize and Dorothy Hicks Lee Prize for Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis, Eager Prize for Best Undergraduate Short Story, 2003; and the Horman Prize for Excellence in Creative Writing.
Uzo is also known to be vocal on some critical issues in Africa, especally Nigeria’s political issues.
In June 2022, the author had called for the special need for Nigeria to be dissolved and given another independence.
He made this declaration in his article, ‘Nigeria’s Second Independence: Why the Giant of Africa Needs to Start Over’ published in Foreign Affairs. There, he insists on dissolution as one of the solution to the political troubles of the country.
