Nigerians on social media have reacted to emerging photos of brutalized President of the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero.
Recall, a viral video captured the moment Ajaero was being rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC with his right eye swollen shut. Ajaero was arrested and allegedly beaten mercilessly on Wednesday by men of the Imo State Police Command while leading a protest in the state.
The NLC president sustained various degrees of Injuries after which he was released and rushed to FMC for medical care.
Narrating his ordeal, the NLC chairman noted in Pidgin that
‘Them beat me ooh, God must have taken extra time to create me.’

The NLC Head of Information and Publicity, Comrade Benson Upah, whilst reacting to the ordeal described what happened to Ajaero as an act of abduction that degenerated into attempted murder.
Reacting to the incident, netizens online had condemned outrightly the actions of the Imo state government toward the labour union leader, while some, however, tagged the NLC leader corrupt, expressing satifaction with the way the he was treated.

Originally, the authorities claimed that Ajaero was taken into custody for his safety. Nonetheless, the NLC has strongly disputed this, arguing that he was subjected to ill-treatment during his arrest.
