Sanwo-Olu: The Lagos Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed the petitions filed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party and Olajide Adediran, Jandor, of the People’s Democratic Party.
Justice Mikhail Abdullah announced this verdict while addressing the objections raised by the petitioners during the case.
Their petitions challenged the victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the Lagos State governorship election held on March 18.

Adediran challenged Sanwo-olu and Hamzat’s right to contest with a ticket.
In his petition, Rhodes-Vivour argued that Sanwo-Olu’s victory was illegitimate due to corrupt practices or failure to adhere to the Electoral Act 2022 and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He also claimed that the second respondent did not win the majority of the valid votes cast during the election.
