Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a 28-year-old pregnant woman accused of conveying logistics suspected to be intended for Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Falmata Adamu, was reportedly apprehended at about 11:00 a.m. on July 13, 2026, during a routine checkpoint operation along the Mandaragirau–Biu Road.

Security sources said troops of the 162 Amphibious Battalion were carrying out checkpoint duties when the woman was stopped and subjected to a search.

During the search, soldiers reportedly discovered several items concealed in her civilian clothing, raising suspicion over her movement and the intended destination of the materials.

The items recovered from the suspect included 17 torchlights and 19 Tiger batteries, which security sources believe may have been destined for a terrorist enclave.

Following the discovery, the woman was immediately taken into custody for further questioning and investigation.

Preliminary investigations are now underway to establish the identities of the intended recipients of the items and determine whether the suspect has links to terrorist logistics networks operating in the North-East.

Authorities are also expected to investigate whether she acted alone or was allegedly working with other individuals involved in supplying materials to insurgent groups.

The arrest comes amid sustained military efforts to dismantle supply networks believed to be supporting Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters across Borno State and other parts of the North-East.

Security experts have repeatedly identified logistics supply routes as a major component of terrorist operations, as insurgent groups depend on food, medicine, batteries and other essential materials to maintain their activities in remote hideouts.

Operation Hadin Kai troops have intensified checkpoint operations, intelligence gathering and logistics interdictions in an effort to restrict the movement of supplies to terrorist enclaves.

The latest interception further highlights the complex nature of the counter-terrorism campaign in the region, where suspected couriers may allegedly use civilian appearances and regular transportation routes to avoid detection.

However, the allegations against Adamu remain subject to investigation, and authorities have yet to publicly announce the outcome of the preliminary probe.

Military sources said the broader security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, with troops maintaining a high level of operational readiness.

The military has continued to urge residents to provide useful information on suspicious movements and activities that could assist security forces in identifying terrorist collaborators and disrupting insurgent supply chains.

The latest development comes as troops intensify operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP elements across the North-East, with particular attention on suspected logistics routes and networks used to sustain fighters in difficult-to-reach areas.

Investigations into the arrested woman’s alleged activities are continuing, while security operatives seek to establish the full circumstances surrounding the recovered items and their intended destination.
