The Naira appreciated against the dollar, closing on a positive note at the official foreign exchange market on Friday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s exchange rate data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,492.49 per dollar on Friday from N1,499.07 recorded on Thursday.
This reflects an appreciation of N6.58 per dollar compared to the previous exchange rate.
Meanwhile, in the black market, the Naira continued to depreciate.
According to a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, Abubakar Alhasan, the Naira fell to N1,505 per dollar on Friday from N1,500 recorded on Wednesday.
Throughout the week, the Naira experienced fluctuations across FX markets.
At the official market, it gained N8.24 on a week-on-week basis, rising from N1,500.07 per dollar recorded on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Conversely, at the black market, the Naira remained unchanged on a week-on-week basis.
