Ayra and her brother Dami began writing songs from a very young age under the tutelage of their mother and aunt. She had wanted to make a real career out of singing since age 10 but her father encouraged her to complete her education first.

“6 years ago this used to be me selling vegetables and fruits with my grandma singing to whomever wanted to hear me. Now people are paying to watch me perform. Will forever be grateful for where I am in my life, God really blessed me,”
she wrote on Instagram.
Ayra caught the attention of the Nigerian audience with the release of her debut hit, ‘Away’, in 2021 after signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.
