Nigeria and China have taken another significant step toward strengthening their long-standing bilateral relationship, with discussions focused on expanding cooperation in electricity, infrastructure, and industrial development.
The talks, held between Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai and Nigeria’s Minister of Power and Director-General of the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegbe, reflect the growing importance of collaboration between both nations in driving economic transformation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yu congratulated Tegbe on his appointment as Minister of Power and praised his efforts in promoting stronger ties between Nigeria and China through the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. The ambassador reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s development priorities and implementing agreements reached by leaders of both countries.
A major focus of the discussions was the advancement of projects in the power sector. Reliable electricity remains a critical requirement for Nigeria’s economic growth, industrial expansion, and improved quality of life. Beyond electricity, discussions covered opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure development, and modern agriculture.
