The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that nobody can control or manipulate him.
Wike stated this while reacting to claims that he was unhappy about the presidential ambition of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.

Speaking during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television, Wike dismissed the rumours, saying Makinde would not have allowed the current crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if he truly wanted to be president.
According to Wike, “You can’t control people like us; it’s not possible. Ask Fayose he knows. You must know the kind of people you are dealing with; some will accept certain things, others won’t.”
He continued, “Why should I not be happy for Makinde to be a presidential candidate? Let’s not make things trivial.
“It’s not about being a Ph.D. holder, an engineer, or a lawyer. Becoming a presidential candidate is not something you just wake up one morning and decide to do.
“Some people just want to bear the title of presidential candidate. If you truly want to be one, will you allow your party to be in this kind of crisis?”

Wike’s comments come amid growing tension within the PDP over internal leadership disputes and speculation about the 2027 presidential race.
