INEC launches AI virtual assistant ahead of Anambra 2025 election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has introduced a new digital tool to help improve the training and performance of its staff as preparations continue for the Anambra 2025 governorship election.
On Friday, the Commission announced the launch of the INEC Training Virtual Assistant, also known as
“INECTrainingBot.” The AI-powered tool is designed to make learning easier and more flexible for INEC officials and stakeholders.
According to the Commission, the innovation shows its commitment to “smarter learning” and ensuring that all personnel are well prepared for their duties during the election.

The INECTrainingBot, available on Telegram, gives users round-the-clock access to election materials and interactive lessons.
It is designed for both field and office staff, allowing them to learn at their own pace, anytime and anywhere.
INEC also reminded registered voters in Anambra that they can collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from October 22 to October 26.
The collection is for those who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
In a statement by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, INEC advised voters to go to the Registration Area where they originally registered to collect their PVCs.
She stressed that collection must be done in person, as no one is allowed to collect on behalf of another person.
“All registered voters are encouraged to collect their PVCs within the given period to be eligible to vote in the coming election,” Eta-Messi said.
INEC also announced that it will conduct a mock accreditation exercise on Saturday, October 25, in selected polling units across Anambra’s three senatorial districts.
The exercise will test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), check its speed, and ensure that results can be uploaded properly on the INEC Result Viewing Portal before the main election.

Observers say the new technology and training tools are part of INEC’s wider efforts to make the 2025 Anambra election smooth, transparent, and credible.
