The Olokun Festival Foundation (OFF) has announced that this year’s Olokun Festival will take place at a new venue called Kakanfo Falola Beach in Badagry.
The Chief Promoter of the foundation, Iba Gani Adams, made this known at a press conference to launch the annual cultural celebration.

He said the new beach and festival site are part of efforts to turn the Olokun Festival into an international tourism event.
Represented by the Director of Communications, Yinka Oguntimehin, Adams explained that the move followed the festival’s upgrade to the Olokun World Festival.
According to him, Kakanfo Falola Beach will include many modern facilities such as a hotel, mini cinema, conference hall, gym, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a small festival stadium, and courts for sports like lawn tennis, table tennis, and beach soccer.
He said the beach is designed to meet global tourism standards.
Adams added that the site aims to attract tourists not only from Nigeria but also from other West African countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Gambia, Togo, and Ghana—as well as from Brazil, the Caribbean, and other parts of the world.
“Our goal is to make Kakanfo Falola Beach as popular as Pattaya Beach in Thailand,” he said.
He also explained that the mini stadium at the beach would be used for various activities, including religious, corporate, and entertainment events.
The 2025 Olokun World Festival started yesterday with a media briefing and will end on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the new beach.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Commissioner for Tourism Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and over 50,000 guests are expected to attend the grand finale.
Adams concluded that the final event would feature Arugba Aje-Olokun, who will offer prayers for everyone attending the festival.
