The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dr. Usani Uguru Usani, for allegedly breaking party rules and acting in ways that could harm the party’s unity and success.

The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s Cross River State Working Committee (SWC) held on October 15, 2025.
According to a statement from the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. James Otudor, Dr. Usani was accused of anti-party activities, insubordination, and actions damaging to the party’s image. He said the suspension will last until the party’s disciplinary committee finishes its investigation.
The SWC also criticized the appointment of Ms. Jackie Wayas as the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, saying she was imposed on the state without consultation.
They claimed she had not worked with the state leadership or shown commitment to the growth of the ADC in Cross River.
The committee called on the national leadership to replace her with someone credible, experienced, and loyal to the party’s vision.
The SWC further expressed concern about members of the Coalition Movement who had publicly joined the ADC but never completed their registration.
It warned that the party would not allow dual membership or tolerate members who hold positions in other political parties.
The party gave all coalition members until October 25, 2025, to complete their registration at the ward level or lose their roles in decision-making.
The Cross River chapter reaffirmed its loyalty to the ADC national leadership, promising to provide responsible and people-focused leadership across the South-South region.
It urged all members to stay calm, law-abiding, and united as the party’s disciplinary process continues.
