Nigeria has lost one of its finest gentlemen, Dr Christopher Kolade, the revered broadcaster, diplomat, and corporate icon who passed away at the age of 92.
Known widely as Mr Integrity, Dr Kolade’s life embodied discipline, leadership, and service across media, business, and public life.
Born on December 28, 1932, in Erin-Oke, Osun State, he began his career in broadcasting, where his calm voice and firm ethics made him one of Nigeria’s most respected media figures. He rose to become Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation before taking the corporate world by storm.
At Cadbury Nigeria, he served as Chief Executive and later Chairman, guiding the company through its golden years with transparency and vision.
In diplomacy, Dr Kolade represented Nigeria as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, earning admiration for his wisdom and grace on the global stage.
Beyond public service, he invested in education, teaching leadership and corporate governance at Lagos Business School and Pan-Atlantic University.
Today, the nation remembers Christopher Kolade not just for his achievements, but for the quiet strength and moral compass that defined him.
A life well lived, and a legacy that will never fade.
