Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table after beating West Ham United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Gunners replaced Liverpool at the top before the Reds’ match against Chelsea later in the day.
Arsenal controlled most of the game, keeping West Ham quiet and allowing them only a few weak chances to attack.
Declan Rice scored the first goal in the 38th minute after West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola failed to hold Eberechi Eze’s shot. Rice reacted quickly to finish neatly from close range.
In the second half, Arsenal doubled their lead after Jurrien Timber was fouled by El Hadji Malick Diouf inside the box. Bukayo Saka calmly scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 and secure all three points.
Mikel Arteta’s men will stay at the top of the league if Liverpool fail to defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
