Former Minister of Information and PDP leader, Prof. Jerry Gana, has announced that former President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2027 presidential election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at the PDP congress in Niger State, Gana said the party is ready to bring Jonathan back as president. He explained that after Jonathan left office in 2015, two other presidents have ruled, and Nigerians now want Jonathan to return.
“I can confirm that Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2027 election as the PDP candidate,” Gana said.
He added that the PDP remains a grassroots party and has resolved its internal issues. According to him, Nigerians still support the party because its programmes focused on people’s welfare.
On the economy, Gana criticized the current government for discouraging foreign investors, but said Nigeria is still a good place for investment.
