The kidnappers who abducted Retired General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), have demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release.

The shocking incident has caused fear and anxiety among his family members, friends, and the general public.

General Tsiga was kidnapped on Wednesday night when his residence in Katsina State was attacked by a heavily armed gang consisting of over 100 gunmen.

According to reports, the criminals surrounded the house, making it impossible for anyone to escape.

They then forcefully broke into the building, smashing doors and creating chaos. Alarmed by the commotion, the retired general came out of his room and asked the attackers what they were looking for. Instead of responding, the gunmen seized him and took him away to an unknown location, leaving his household in a state of shock and fear.

Following the abduction, security forces immediately launched an operation to track down the criminals and rescue the retired general from captivity.

Law enforcement agencies, including the police, military, and other security operatives, have been working together to gather intelligence and locate the hideout of the kidnappers.

The authorities have assured the public that they are doing everything possible to secure his safe return.

Meanwhile, a source close to the general’s family, who preferred to remain anonymous, revealed that the kidnappers contacted them and demanded a ransom of N250 million before they would release him.

The demand has placed the family under immense pressure, as they now face the difficult challenge of negotiating with the abductors while hoping for the intervention of security agencies.

The general’s relatives, friends, and well-wishers are deeply worried, praying for his safety and hoping for a swift resolution to the crisis.

The incident has once again highlighted the growing insecurity in some parts of Nigeria, where kidnapping for ransom has become a serious problem.

Many residents of Katsina State and beyond are expressing concern over the rising cases of violent crimes, urging the government and security forces to take stronger action against criminal groups operating in the region.

As the search for General Tsiga continues, the nation watches closely, hoping for positive news about his safe return. His abduction serves as another reminder of the urgent need to address security challenges and ensure that citizens can live without fear of such violent attacks.
