Portable In Hot Water: Nigerian Singer Accused Of Assaulting Government Officials

A disturbing incident has unfolded in Ogun State, Nigeria, involving popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, better known as Portable.

‎According to a popular X (formerly known as Twitter) influencer, @man_of_letters, Portable was involved in physical altercation with government officials who were carrying out their duties in the vicinity of his Odoguw bar location at Iyana Ilogbo, Ogun State.

‎The influencer claimed that the incident began when the agents of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA), along with zonal planning officers from Ibogun and Otta, launched a joint monitoring and auditing operation in the area.

As they worked on the other side of the road opposite Portable’s bar, the singer allegedly harassed them.

‎The situation escalated the next day when the agents arrived at Portable’s bar to meet with his father and explain their purpose.

‎The officials issued a notice of illegal structure, informing the elderly man that Portable had a specific number of days to challenge the notice if he had the appropriate documents.

‎However, Portable’s response was far from calm. According to the influencer, the singer and a group area boys arrived on Okada and immediately attacked the government officials.

‎The agents, attempted to flee the scene for safety bu, but Portable allegedly ordered his Okada riders to block their path, allowing him to physically assault the agents.

‎The chase continued until the officials sought refuge in a nearby petrol station.

‎The police were called to the scene, and all individuals suspected of being involved in the assault were arrested.

However, Portable himself is currently in hiding, and it is expected that he will be arrested if he makes public appearance.

‎The incident has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling for Portable to be held accountable for his actions.
