Burna Boy Didn’t Pay Outstanding Bills For All Patients – UPTH Clarifies

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) has clarified that Afro fusion star Burna Boy did not pay outstanding bills for all the patients during his recent visit.

It would be recalled that Burna Boy, a native of Rivers State with his team during a recent visit at the hospital in his hometown paid the bills of all the patients in the hospital.

In the videos seen on Twitter, the singer who was heavily guarded could be seen making an entrance into the hospital, after which visited some patients in it.

He also distributed food items to women.

Additionally, he had also given out over N10million to students at the University of Port Harcourt.

However, it was erroneously claimed that Burna Boy paid all outstanding bills at UPTH.

The hospital’s spokesman Elabha Meni said the ‘Big 7’ singer only paid the bills of selected patients at the facility.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patients’ bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare costs,” Meni clarified.

He lauded the musician’s charitable act in helping those in need in society.
