The rate of death in Nigeria is alarming has many died of ailment that should not have led to death if diagnosed early enough, while some could not visit the Hospital for treatment due to lack of financial wherewithal to take good care of themselves to seek medical attention in Nigeria Hospitals as it is gradually becoming a luxury.
Due to huge bills incurred in the cause of treating an ailment some have abandoned their loved ones in Hospital because they can’t afford the cost of discharging the patient. And some have died as a result of lack of financial capability to treat themselves; others died of ignorance, because they never bothered to know their health status, not to talk of treating the ailment.
Because of the situation many Nigerians found themselves, kind hearted Nigerians like Dr. Dennis Aikoriogie have taken it upon themselves to bail out the needy by providing necessary health care facilities and treatment to the indigents.
This Aikoriogie does through a foundation he set up to render assistance for the needy.
His objective of coming up with that idea was to contribute his quota to the development of the society, and make life more meaningful to others.
Demonstrating his love for others, he invited experts in the medical profession to diagnose and treat patients for free, this he carried out in his State of Origin Edo and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, where he resides.The beneficiaries of this kind gesture are full of praises and prayers for Dr Aikoriogie for rescuing them from their predicament, and saving them from the pang of death.
His kind gesture is not limited to providing medical assistance, he felt people who could not successfully feed themselves should be assisted particularly the widows, as well as the aged that were not getting adequate care expected of their age should not be neglected, such he reached out to them by giving them succour.
On a regular basis, he put a smile on the faces of the despondent ,and rekindled their hope of a better tomorrow.

Many students who desired good education but lacked sponsors were bailed out by Aikoriogie foundation that granted them scholarships, to pursue their education to the highest level they desire, so that they will be useful to themselves and the Society as well as provide them the opportunity to maximize their full potentials. This he does to reduce crime rate in the society because an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.
To those who are not keen about improving their educational background, avenues were equally created for them to learn a trade or vocation facilitated by the foundation, and as well provide them tools to work with so they can be independent, and fend for themselves. To him, it is teaching one how to fish and not just giving one the fish.
As the commitment for a better society is the thrust of his generosity, his love for the less privileged is uncommon, he extended his kind gesture to the orphans, by giving them necessary training that will always give them a sense of being part of the society, and not feeling alienated.
During yuletide period the orphans are always treated to a nice time, children from various orphanage homes in Edo State are brought together to have fun, this the foundation does in conjunction with Edo State ministry of youths and gender issues. Organising parties for them and extending love of the season to them, more so impressing on them that people care about their welfare even though their families are not around to celebrate with them.
The aged and the young ones see Dr Aikoriogie as an arm they can lean on and a bastion for their hope for a better society. These are part of the reasons that influenced his decision to aspire for the governorship seat of Edo State, so that his administration can give the neglects of the society and those who get little attention or not are given the recognition they deserve, so as to get more focus and as well increase their trust in government.
As a soldier who prepared himself before going to the war front Dr. Dennis has prepared himself for the task ahead of him, having taken his time to study and understand the challenges facing his State.
