Group Threatened To Shut Unregistered Hotel

The Nigeria Hotel Association has said it will shut unregistered hotels over the alleged continued refusal to comply with the extant laws.

According to a statement signed by the National president of the Association, His Highness Eze Patrick Anyawu recalled that the association had written series of letters, press releases, issued ultimatums, notices; orders to no avail and all these were serially ignored by them

The Association is, however, using this medium to demand the total compliance of the yet in line with the communiqués signed by all the relevant stakeholders in the sector.

His Highness Eze Patrick Anyawu stressed the country needs policies that drive investment in hospitality.

When he spoke with Newsmen in Abuja he said “if the government does not adapt and develop new ways of shoring up the economy, it will fail to prepare for the future.”

He stressed, the hotel sector currently contributes the second percent of government revenue as such, adding that a shift to hospitality will adversely improve the gross domestic product (GDP).

The traditional title holder said the nation’s youthful population is innovative and creative adding that Nigeria must harness their growth potential through hospitality

He advised government at all levels that, this can only be done by pivoting towards policies that foster grant to members and encourage economic activities

His Highness Eze Patrick Anyawu said the proper approach of the government to hoteliers will also build trust, confidence, and a sense of ownership among the people.

Members under the aegis of His Highness Eze Patrick Anyawu solidarity, however said they will continue to support and aim at complementing his good work towards moving hospitality to greatness. 

They are all members who supported Eze and assured to back the National president bid of continuity piloting the affairs of Nigeria Hotel Association.

They also said His Highness is a seasoned hotel administrator and should be allowed to fix the sector.

They added that the traditional title holder  would address the challenges hoteliers are facing.
