Nigerian celebrities such as Bella Shmurda, Iyabo Ojo, Tacha, Seyi Vibez and fans commemorated late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, on social media, marking his first post-humous birthday.
Mohbad, previously associated with Marlian Records, died suddenly at 27 on September 12, 2023.
Following the outcry over the circumstances that led to Mohbad’s death, the Lagos State Police Command launched an investigation.
This led to the exhumation of the singer’s body for an autopsy on September 21, 2023. A nurse involved in his treatment before his passing was also arrested.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the autopsy was completed, with results pending.
Taking to her X handle, Big Brother Naija’s former housemate, Tasha, posted a picture of Mohbad with the caption “Happy Birthday Mohbad 🤍🕊”
Bella Shmurda, also took to his Instagram account on Wednesday, January 3, and he wrote:
“Happy posthumous birthday my brother my friend Oba Imole
“Rest in power
Love u forever nd I miss u.”
Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo in a post on her Instagram account wished the late singer a post-humous birthday, she pledged to persist in investigating the matter.
She wrote:
“Once I’m back, we, the concerned citizens, will be paying the right authorities a courtesy visit…..so help us God
“#JusticeForMohbad is a must, and until that happens, no distractions, no backing down, happy heavenly birthday wishes to you….. Imole #nodistractions“

Also, a fellow music colleague, Seyi Vibez posted
“Happy birthday MOH” on his Instagram story.”
Popular Music & Entertainment Executive, Dami Adenuga (@DamiAdenuga), expressed his love for the late act, saying,
“Today is Mohbad’s posthumous birthday, may he rest in peace. We miss him dearly.”
A user Odinaka (@TheAjibolaGrey) tweeted,
“Happy birthday Mohbad, your light will continue to shine forever. You will forever be a light and a superstar. ❤❤”

“Happy Posthumous Birthday, Mohbad. You shall never be forgotten. 💡❤”
