“I vow to immortalize Late Akeredolu, give him a befitting funeral”-Aiyedatiwa

In a solemn New Year statewide broadcast, Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, pledged to immortalize his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who tragically passed away last week. Aiyedatiwa assumed the governorship following Akeredolu’s demise.

“As promised, we will not only give our late former governor a befitting state burial but will also immortalize his name,” assured Governor Aiyedatiwa in his address.

Expressing gratitude for surviving the challenges of 2023, Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the year’s difficulties, especially the loss of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON. He highlighted Akeredolu’s impactful contributions to the state and Nigeria.

 “Arakunrin left an indelible mark on the annals of time, and his contributions to the development of our state, and indeed Nigeria, are etched in history.”

The governor emphasized the commitment to continuing and completing the projects initiated by Akeredolu across the state.

 “…just as we will strive to complete all the developmental projects he embarked upon as Governor of Ondo State.”

As the state anticipates upcoming elections, Aiyedatiwa called for peaceful political activities, urging all stakeholders to adhere strictly to electoral guidelines.

 “The election should be a contest of ideas and choices, not an opportunity to settle political scores or an excuse for calumny.”

In his pledge to bring people together, Aiyedatiwa expressed determination to build on the foundation laid by the previous administration, focusing on a peaceful and prosperous Ondo State.
