The Supreme Court has unanimously affirmed Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful governor of Enugu state.
A five-member panel, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, dismissed two appeals lodged by the Labour Party (LP) and its candidate, Jonathan Edeoga.
Justice Garba, delivering the lead judgment, emphasized the inability of the appellants to substantiate their case. The court upheld the prior judgment of the Court of Appeal, which, in turn, had confirmed the decision of the trial tribunal, dismissing the petition filed by the LP and Edeoga.
