SSANIP Chapter Chairman, Comrade Nafiu Okoro, highlighted the severity of the issue, stating that irregularities in salary payments had dire consequences, even leading to untimely deaths among the polytechnic’s workforce. Okoro emphasized that the institution’s management owed its staff over 10 months’ worth of salaries.

The protesters also called for the implementation of the N35,000 wage award for polytechnic staff.

“All non teaching staff comprising of NASU and SSANIP agreed that government should pay all our outstanding salaries running to over 10 months .

“And that N35,000 being paid to workers as palliatives in Ondo State should be extended to institutions.”
