The Federal Government has issued a warning about the proliferation of counterfeit/fake online platforms claiming association with the Presidential Palliative Programmes and engaging in fraudulent activities related to palliative distribution in the country. The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, raised the alarm in a notice through her official communication channel on Monday.
The Minister urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and disregard any unauthorized online platforms that falsely claim ties to the government’s palliative initiatives. She stressed that the only legitimate and verified platform for palliative distribution is the one officially endorsed by the government.

In her statement, Minister Uzoka-Anite said, “It has come to my notice that unauthorized platforms falsely claim association with the Presidential Palliative Programmes. I, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, Honourable Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, urgently advise Nigerians to utilize only the official portal, http://fedgrantandloan.gov.ng, for authentic updates and applications.”
She emphasized the importance of protecting personal information and cautioned against relying on unauthorized channels for information about these critical initiatives. The Minister explicitly stated, “Avoid unauthorized channels. Rely solely on the verified website for accurate details regarding these vital initiatives.”
Furthermore, she warned against making payments to anyone claiming to process applications, asserting that the service is free for the benefit of all eligible individuals seeking palliative support.
The government’s alert comes amid reports of online scams and fraudulent activities exploiting various government initiatives, using fake websites. Minister Uzoka-Anite’s notice serves as a reminder for Nigerians to exercise caution, verify information through official channels, and contribute to maintaining the integrity of government programs.
As a recap, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had announced a substantial funding of N125 billion for Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) under the Presidential Palliative Loan Programme in July. The government clarified that N75 billion would be allocated to MSMEs across various sectors, while another N75 billion would support manufacturers.
